Caz Scott trained in fine art at the Arts University Bournemouth and now works as a full-time artist dividing her time between her Dorset studio and Falmouth, Cornwall.
Caz creates exciting vibrant images that depict her response and deep emotional attachment to her surroundings. She spends long periods walking, observing and sketching across the South-West. She is motivated by the dramatic landforms and wildness of the coast and moorland often returning to familiar places as well as seeking new inspiration.

"I always prime my canvases with raw umber underpainting which provides a depth and intensity of colour I can't achieve on a white background. I draw my images in charcoal and getting the composition balanced at this stage is crucial to my finished work. I aim for a structural accuracy that ensures the landscape has strength and credibility."

My drawings activate my memories – what the weather was like, how I was feeling, where I was standing, things like that.
